SolarDuck

Katapult Ocean Alumni

Nijmegen, Netherlands

SolarDuck develops offshore floating solar platforms and delivers scalable solutions to harvest energy offshore.

Solarduck wants to use the ocean as a space for harvesting renewable energy due to land-scarcity issues in ‘megacities’. By 2030, energy demand will have increased by 38% mainly due to the rising wealth, electrification, and digitization of societies in Asia. There is a need for sustainable energy production while safeguarding supply and competitive pricing. SolarDuck power plants are remotely controlled, hardly require maintenance and are fully connected to the grid for more efficient delivery of electricity.
